Eastern Pines Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Eastern Pines Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is Brunswick County’s first oral surgery practice, offering a range of services from dental implants to sleep apnea treatment. Philip McIver, D.D.S., opened Eastern Pines in the Waterford Medical Center in March 2008. Dr. McIver founded the practice to bring Christian values and exemplary care to the local oral surgery field.
Dr. McIver, his wife and seven-year old son relocated to Brunswick County from New York, where Dr. McIver attended the oral and maxillofacial surgery program at Harlem Hospital Center/Columbia University. They loved the Leland area for its proximity to Maryland, where the McIvers were raised, and for the town’s potential.
“It’s a really neat up-and-coming area,” says Dr. McIver. “Not to mention, the weather is just beautiful.” Eastern Pines Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a full range of services that improve each patient’s quality of life. Service includes dental implants, a quick and minimally invasive procedure to replace missing teeth; orthognathic surgery, a procedure for the treatment of structure and growth conditions of the jaw and face, sleep apnea, TMJ and other advanced orthodontic problems; preprosthetic surgery, a procedure that prepares the jaw for dentures or implants, as well as repairing bones in the jaw as a result of trauma or long-term denture use; wisdom teeth removal; TMJ treatment, a non-invasive therapeutic regimen to help with popping, clicking and jaw pain; and Botox, cosmetic treatment for fine lines and wrinkles.
Dr. McIver is talented in all of the traditional services of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, but he is very passionate about sleep apnea. A member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Dr. McIver enjoys working with patients to solve their sleep problems, from excessive snoring to breathing interruption during sleep. He looks forward to continuing to grow this area of his practice.
When Dr. McIver established Eastern Pines, he not only wanted to provide specialized procedures and treatments, he wanted to be sure that these services were available to everyone. Accepting Medicare and Medicaid in addition to all major insurance carriers, Dr. McIver is emphatic about making sure that every person has access to, and can afford, quality healthcare.
The McIvers are not only generous in Brunswick County but overseas as well. This Summer they will travel to the northeast region of Brazil to scout facilities and determine the surgical needs of the area. The couple will work with MissionServ International in an effort to provide a better way of life to the people of this country.
In addition to the main office of Eastern Pines in Waterford, Dr. McIver also operates satellite offices in Zebulon on Monday afternoons and Clinton and Bladenboro on Thursdays.
